What a week it has been! Lets Review!
This past week’s Goals:
✔First Batch of Soap ready! TOMORROW!- (its amazing :) I am so proud! I really have fallen in love with soap making. I am now trying to see if this is new soaping adventure is an avenue to make a little bit of pocket change. It’s a bit of a challenge to start!
✔Start using my NEW Sewing machine (I did and I am in LOVE)
✔Make soap bags (I started but I need to make a pattern so I can make them nicer)
-Make more Soap this weekend (Made some lye mixtures Last night ,now letting it cool, I should be able to MAKE SOAP!, this Morning! I went get more supplies today to complete the next batch!! While in the store struck up a conversation with the check out lady about my soaping adventures. Explain a little back story on how last time I ask about if Lowes sold Lye, I got asked if I was going to make METH…… when I asked an associate if they sold it . So that got her attention, I then explain that he should have asked did I kill someone. I don’t think Meth has Lye in it and if it does it would kill you. PLEASE DO NOT SNORT OR SMOKE LYE….. I hope I don’t have to put a disclaimer. So I told her what I was doing with the lye. I explained Sopification (is a process that produces soap, usually from fats and lye) . I also told her that I once I had built up a small supplies of soaps I wanted to start selling. She told me to bring some to the Manager and they might be able to sell it there….. OMG what this would be a dream! )
-Monday go Bridge Hunting with Christopher (Nope-sometimes school happens)
✔Draw 10 sketch’s a week. (I did this!! I am kind of in love with this new addition to my sketchbook. I have started to draw my Home’s treasures! SO this is kinds cool drawing special things around my home I share with Christopher. I think this is gonna be fun!
-Make 1 Vessel with canvas (tomorrow/today)
-Blog 2 more times (does this count :) 1 down and then one on wed/ Thursday)
Looking at this week, I set some goals and crushed some goals. I am still working on some. I am very thankful for having Yesterday off from work and school so I could put some more time into ARTing and homework. This week has also been a bit stressful; I had a conflict with an individual and thought I down for the count. It made me really realize how much I have grown but also how much more I need to grow. I really need to work on standing my ground and standing up for my self. I believe this is something we all have to work on.
OH and we got a Kiln this weekend!!! How exciting and the possibilities!!!
I just wanted to share this…. I usually do not really enjoy MLK weekend. Not because I don’t love Dr. King because I DO but because it marks the date 10 year of when one of my most special people departed this world. That weekend I was meant to go home. I didn’t and I regretted it every day. I have come to terms with it but it still bothers me a bit. I miss her daily, and am Thankful for her daily. I am still completing the promise that I made to her, finishing my Degree! This weekend reminds me of my Grandy and her not being here. But the message that Dr. King taught was just further infused in my life by this woman. Grandy was a true blessing to every one who met her. Her kindness was so becoming of her. Her gentle words would sooth the soul. She was beyond Graceful to all she met even if it was her Name. These are the things that I hope to one day achieve. If I could only live up to her expectations just a little bit I will happy. So in honor of her, I will say this, complete your goals no matter how long it take, Love like no other, and also be kind and gentle.
Enjoy your day! Love some one xxx
